PUDDINGTON and BLACK DOG W.I.
SKITTLES TEAM NEWS
Below is the latest report from our inside source, Joan Lakeland,
the team's Vice Captain:
"Our first match after the Christmas break was not so good.
(Too much Christmas pudding I think).
We lost to Zeal Monachorum W.I. by just 3 points, playing at the Waie Inn.
It was a very close match with either team being the possible winners
right up to the last ball. We were ahead by 5 points when their last player
went in and so they only needed 6 or more to win. She had one skittle down
with her first ball, then two with the second, but finally her last ball
knocked down 4 and so that was it. Never mind though, it was a good match,
although neither team had very high scores at all."
"We are still all determined to win next time, and again we will be
playing at the Waie Inn, Zeal Monachorum, but this time the team will be the
Tawtonians W.I. team, on Tuesday 20th Jan.
They are a good team, and so we will really have to concentrate on our game,
as they beat us by 17 point in our last match with them back in October."
"Wish us luck!"
