News PUDDINGTON and BLACK DOG W.I. SKITTLES TEAM NEWS PUDDINGTON W.I. SKITTLES NEWS FOR THE NEW SEASON OF 2004 - 2005 Well, what a dreadful start we have got off to this season. I was away on holiday for the first two games played, firstly against Colebrooke at The Black Dog. We lost to them by a staggering 42 points. Then against Crediton played at the Rose & Crown, Sandford. We lost that game by 21 points. It was a nasty shock to come back from my holiday to hear that news. We then played against Mary Down back at the Black Dog again, I was back in the team again now, but we still lost to them by 4 points. Finally we played against Sanford last week back on home ground at the Black Dog and lost by 26 points. After our good run last season, we have certainly gone down badly. Spares seem to be impossible to get at the moment, and we need to be getting a lot more of them to get our scores back up in future games, and so come on girls, play hard and make every ball count. Next week we are playing against North Tawton at the Waie Inn over at Zeal Monachorum. We really have got to pull our socks up and do a lot better. I can only hope that we can begin to claw our way back, or we shall find ourselves so far down that it will be impossible to climb back up again. I think that we are going to have to try and find some way of getting some practice in between games. We refuse to have our name on the wooden spoon again! Joan Lakeland (Vice Captain)
